Bar & Games Lounge in Karon, Phuket
Most people find us for one reason and stay for another. Behind the shop front on Koktanod Road there's a proper bar and an air-conditioned lounge — somewhere to sit down, order a cocktail, put a game on and lose an hour or three. Five minutes from Kata Beach, open Tuesday to Sunday from midday until 4AM.
It isn't a beach club and it isn't a sports pub. It's a room with good seating, cold drinks, a PlayStation and a big screen, run by people who'd rather you stayed than turned over the table.
The Dispensary
Cocktails are made to order, not poured from a pre-mix jug. The classics are all there — mojitos, margaritas, mai tais, piña coladas — alongside a short list of longer, stronger builds for later in the evening. Espresso martinis for the ones who aren't ready to call it a night.
Beer is cold and local, with a few imports for anyone missing home. Spirits by the glass. Shots and bombs if the mood turns that way, which around fight night it usually does.
Not drinking? Half the bar isn't alcohol at all. Fresh fruit smoothies blended to order, thick milkshakes, proper espresso-based coffee, and a range of protein shakes that have become popular with people coming off the gyms and Muay Thai camps around Karon and Kata. Add whey, peanut butter, honey or fruit to any of them.
Everything is priced the way a local bar should be, not the way a beachfront one is.

Air conditioning, comfortable seating, a big screen, and a PlayStation 5 with two controllers. Turn up, order a drink, and pick a game. It's free to use — you don't pay to play, you just pay for what you're drinking.

What's on the console
EA FC and FIFA, which settles most arguments and starts a few more. Mortal Kombat, on house rules, where the loser buys the next round. UFC, for anyone who wants to try it themselves rather than just watch it. Plus whatever else is loaded on the machine at the time — ask the crew.
Fight nights and sport
The big screen goes on for UFC cards and the football. Karon has surprisingly few places to actually sit down and watch a fight in air conditioning with a decent drink in your hand, and that's roughly why we set the room up the way we did. Check with us for what's on and when — cards move, and so do kick-off times.
Or don't play anything
Plenty of people use the lounge to do nothing at all. Put something on the screen, order a coffee or a smoothie, and sit in the cool for a while. Nobody is going to move you along. It works as well at two in the afternoon when the heat is unbearable as it does at ten at night.

We're at 119/1 Koktanod Road in Karon — about five minutes from Kata Beach, walkable from most of Karon, and a short ride from Kata Noi, Chalong or Rawai.
